Fantastical Reality

"I'm convinced I grew up in a place where the magical and the real were so blurred that you could walk through a hole in a tree and into another world." No, really. Fantastical Reality was my first solo play to be produced onstage, and I could not be happier. It is a love letter to my childhood and where I grew up in the Marin Headlands of Northern California. This play is also important to me because it sheds light on Maladaptive Daydreaming, a lesser-known sleep disorder that creates powerful hallucinations in those affected. In writing this, I wanted to show people that what you see about someone isn't always the whole picture and that there is always magic in the real world for those struggling to keep going.
